Natural progression |
Once
engaged, TAPs will have formed the primary task of establishing
the groundwork for further intervention. Higher order
curricula activities that take a student into a continued
educational pathway or employment. We would like to
think we have a success rate equal to 100% of the projects
uptake.
Our commitment to combating inter-related socio-economic
consequences of the isolation, discrimination and disfranchisement
often experienced by certain sections of our community
would realistically mean some students will have fallen
away from TAPs for an alternative route. The ieet deals
with this situation by the provision of Youth Advisory
& Community Service or YACs. Our network of associations
and professional providers ensure this area has the
strongest support systems in place. YACs then, has within
its approach a number of subtle layers of activities.
Early Intervention & Focus on Education & Employment.
Our package of specifically tailored measures and programs
include both potential & actual offenders :-
= Basic Skills Courses. Planned & delivered in close
collaboration with all participants to ensure that the
programs on offer are targeted to their specific needs.
= ICT to boost & enhance transferable skills.
= Improved information, advice and guidance arrangements
for juvenile offenders.
= Provision of Out-reach workers to identify & assist
young people judged 'at risk' of falling into delinquent
and/or criminal activity.
= Encouraging local business to sponsor specific rehabilitation
projects.
