YOUNGSTERS from primary schools throughout Medway have been learning to be weather forecasters, newspaper editors and car designers.
They have just graduated from the Kent Children's University after four Saturday morning sessions.
The pupils had the chance to use facilities and have specialist tuition from lecturers at the University of Greenwich at Chatham Maritime.
Courses included producing a newspaper using desk-top publishing and building cars strong enough to withstand a wind tunnel test.
One project on conservation involved making a model animal park from recyclable materials.
VIP delegates at the graduation ceremony included Gillingham MP Paul Clark, Medway education director Richard Bolsin and Medway education committiee chairman Cllr. Mark Jones.
The scheme received £16,00 sponsorship from BT. Education Services who donated a total of £150,000 to eight Out of School Hours projects launched by the Department of Education and Employment.
