Aims and outcomes |
The
ieet considers that the primary task of any TAPs is
to ensure the relationship between any educational experience
and a real practical example should exist. This ensures
that the language used and subject of study co-exist
in a meaningful way. However, where the participant
has English as a second language, the uses of other
delivery strategies are explored.
Once the method of delivery has been established, the
task of learning is broken down into 'sections'. Each
section delivers a number of key points or technical
words that are explained in context. As the TAPs progress,
the relevance of that word and its relationship to the
subject are slowly revealed. However, the paper or notes
material cannot be necessarily the only delivery point.
'Chalk and talk' along with room interaction, helps
in ensuring at every stage of a learning experience
can be monitored.
It would not be unusual to have an entire unit dedicated
to the complexities of Aerodynamics for example.
Besides the obvious and deliberate strategy of 'steering'
a TAPs subject, the motivation of the participant is
to explore beyond the experience itself. Having been
equipped with new and hands on examples of a technology
subject, every individual is able to take with them
the entire notes pack as given at the start of the program.
The outcome of new knowledge and proven to work notes,
enables a sound ability to duplicate at pocket money
level, the program many times over.
